John Gamertsfelder

John W. Gamertsfelder, 73 passed away on January 1st 2023 in Columbus, Ohio. John was a proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was ranked as Private First Class in the Third Marine Division, 9th Marine Regiment, Golf Company. His Military Occupation Specialty was Rifleman, 0311.

He was employed at Pinkerton International for 16 years ending his position as Regional Manager of investigations there, to start his own Private Investigations business which still exists today.

John, a lifelong resident of Central Ohio, enjoyed cheering on his OSU Buckeyes. He especially enjoyed nature and appreciated it by watching and feeding wild birds at home from his sunroom. John was known for his storytelling and would regale anyone who would listen with a highly captivating narrative.

John is survived by Molly, his loving wife of 42 years and his four children: Karl (Sonia), Neal (Kirsten), Katy and Niki. He is also survived by many extended family members as well as his four cats Murphy, Pixie, Riff Raff & Lucky, many beloved chickens, peafowl and fish.

Friends and family may call Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 12-4pm at the Johnstown Baptist Church, 450 S. Main St, Johnstown, OH 43031. Prayer service will be held at 3:30pm with a Military Funeral Honors Ceremony at 4:30pm.
