Matthew Powell

Matthew Emerick Powell, loving husband and father, died unexpectedly on December 31, 2021. Matt was born September 27, 1969 in New Albany, OH. He lived in Johnstown, OH with his beloved wife of 20 years and their two children. Matt served in the United States Marine Corp from 1990 to 1994 as a Landing Support Specialist. Matt loved spending time with his family and German Shepherds. He enjoyed target shooting, riding his motorcycle, boating and traveling. Matt was preceded in death by his mother Frances Powell and sister Tina (Powell) Rak. He is survived by his wife Cindy, children Sarah and Luke, father William Powell, brother Mark (Pepper) Powell, father-in-law James Fell, mother-in-law Ellen Fravel and many other extended family and friends.

A visitation for Matthew will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 225 North Main Street, Johnstown, Ohio 43031. A visitation will occur Friday, January 7, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 225 North Main Street, Johnstown, Ohio 43031. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM, 225 North Main Street, Johnstown, Ohio 43031.

Matthew will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, 4585 Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road, New Albany, Ohio.
