Robert "Bob" Gump

December 2, 1947 – January 14, 2012

At 9:45 AM, on the 14th of January 2012, Robert "Bob" Gump of Johnstown, OH snapped a brisk salute to his new Commandant and joined ranks with the heroes who preceded him. Free of the haunting memories of Viet Nam and the pain from recent illnesses he reported to his new base. A proud Marine, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he's now at peace. Born on December 2, 1947 he is preceded in death by his parents Robert Pershing Gump and Edith Maxine Gump, brother’s in law, Bill Turner and Jerry Miller. Survived by, his wife of 39 years, Janet. Children: Doug Dawson, Robert (Michelle) Gump, Joanne (Ralph) Siegfried. Grandchildren: Alyssa (Jake) Denuit, Douglas, Christian, Brandon, Joey, Cody, and Kyle Sisters: Judy (Eldon) Voshart, Mary Turner (Fred). Mother in law, Lois Given. Sister and brother in law Judy & Jan Pierce. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N Main St., Johnstown, OH. Internment with Military Honors to follow at Concord Cemetery, Johnstown, OH. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 5-8 pm.
