Ms. Gussie L. Walton was born on May 5, 1926 in Upson County Georgia, the daughter of the late Gussie May Outler and the late Charlie Respress. All of her siblings preceded her in death. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and remained active in various churches until that participation was limited by her illness. Ms. Gussie was a giving person who became a mother figure to everyone she met. This "mother" role became the essence of her life. She leaves to cherish her loving memory five daughters, Dr. Rosa Marie (Willie) Ashmon, Palecia Walton Searcy, Vacienta (Ben) Respress, Juana (Tony) Hardy, Tara Kay (Gregory) Thomas; one sister-in-law, Ruthelle Outler; seven grandchildren, Garrick, Candace, and Brandon Respress, Valerie N. Ashmon, Stephanie Hardy, and Gregory Thomas Gee; four great-grandchildren, Kai, Kyser, Camryn, and Benjamin, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her granddaughter Briana T. Searcy preceded her in death.
