affectionately called Nov or Novie and was born on November 26, 1963. She is the first child for her father, Mr. Basil Frankson and her mother, Ms. Eugenie Farquharson. She was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
Novelette attended the Beersheba all age school, then Black River Secondary School and later the Excelsior Community College. After school, she started her career as an entrepreneur working with her mother Eugenie, in their family owned business. During the years they spent together, they created a unique bond where she learned how to cook some of our top favorites: pork (that she did not eat), rice and peas, peppered steak, oxtail, and curried goat.
It was also during this time working in St. Elizabeth that Novelette gained many lifelong friendships and left an indelible mark in the community.
She migrated to the United States in 1996 to join her dad, Basil and sisters. Shortly after, she began working with Walgreens Pharmacy in Florida as a pharmacy technician and worked her way up to Manger of Pharmacy Operations at the Tara Blvd store in Georgia. She loved her work and was devoted to this company and fellow employees for over 25 years.
In pursuit of opportunities, Novelette moved from Florida to Georgia, which involved leaving her closest family members and friends behind. However, her allegiance to family was strong and she did not hesitate to travel back and forth for celebrations, family events, or merely to spend time together. In the Farquharson family, it is said, that our family is our friends and our friends are our family. Novelette was no exception and distance was no barrier. This is evidenced by the countless hours that she spent talking with her sisters and cousins on the phone daily.
Novelette had a very calm and peaceful demeanor but she was also a no nonsense person. She is a firm believer that everyone should be treated with respect. Over the years, she nurtured her family members. Her love for children brought her great joy and made her a favorite auntie and cousin to the younger family members.
She was in Georgia and he was in Jamaica. He talked her through how to fix the leaking pipe but it did not stop there. He kept calling and they kept talking and in 2013, Leroy and Novelette got married in Kingston, Jamaica. Leroy's favorite memory of their wedding day was dancing to the song “ She’s Royal”, which he still believes perfectly describes his queen.
Novelette delighted in travelling and exploring the world. In addition to exploring the USA and parts of the Caribbean she also toured some European countries.
She started her Christian journey at the Beersheba Moravian church and later got baptized at Divine Faith Church in Georgia. God placed a special anointing on her life to pray for the sick and the brokenhearted. There are testimonials of how her prayers helped to heal others and change situations. In her own testimony she talked about the many times when only God healed her body.
As she navigated her illness over the last few months, her faith in God never wavered
On April 4, 2023, surrounded by members of her family, she traded her cross for a crown and she transitioned peacefully from life on earth to join her heavenly Father leaving, all of us to cherish her fond memories.
