

In 1965, she married Clarence Sylve. This union was blessed with two children, Angela and Clarence. Years later, she and her lifetime friend since age 4, Lawrence Dykes were blessed with two more daughters, Tonya and Dawn.
In 1978, she graduated from Highland Park Community College after completing a nursing administration program. For many years she worked at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana as a nursing assistant. In 1989, she and her family moved to Georgia to begin a new life. In 1995, she and Lawrence were married. She worked at Newnan Hospital for 19 years as a nursing administrator. During this time she focused on being a good mother, grandmother, and servant of the Lord. After retirement she spent her time cooking, fishing, and ministering. On March 30, 2008 she was called by God to minister the gospel. On April 30, 2010, she was ordained as a minister under Reverend Willie James at Fellowship of Faith Christian Center Church in Newnan, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Lawrence Dykes; one son, Clarence Sylve; 3 daughters, Angela Jones, Tonya Lovett (Gunzallo), and Dawn Sibley; as well as 5 stepchildren, Sally Blackmon (Ralph Blackmon), Ricardo Dykes, Jimmy Dykes (Tracie), Chantilly Wells, and Lawrence Dykes, Jr.; her grandchildren, Tyra Sylve, Darrell Edmond, Jr., Patrick Edmond, Keviyan Richardson, Courtney Sylve, and Verneshia Sylve; 2 great grandchildren; her beloved dog, Zeb; her loving granddogs, Caesar and Mr. Walter; 2 sisters; Cora Armstrong and Mary Dudley; 4 brothers, Levone Fairley (Jessie), Henry Fairley (Wilma), David Fairley (Debra), and George Fairley.
She is preceded in death by: her mother, father, stepfather, Hardy Sims; 2 brothers, Mark “Mott” Fairley and Roy “Bubba” Fairley; uncle, Thurman “Bo” Hull; brothers-in-law, Sam “DIP” Dudley, and Raymond Armstrong; niece, Patricia Charleston; and nephew, Tyrone Fairley.
