

On December 11, 2022 at 10:55 A.M, Roberto Winston Forbes, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather transitioned and entered eternal life. Roberto was born in Panama to Vincent Forbes and Elsa Margarita Forbes on September 19, 1942. While he was saddened with the loss of his parents as a teenager, through the years, Roberto enjoyed caring for his siblings, cooking, and making friends wherever he went. Roberto was a natural born leader and excelled in everything. As a young adult, Roberto was very competitive and excelled in cycling and weightlifting.
He started working for the Panama Canal in 1976 and received many awards based on his service, achievements and contribution to the Commission of the Panama Canal. In 1986, he completed his diving training course for diving and repairing the ships that passed through the Panama Canal. Roberto moved to Brooklyn N.Y. in 1999 and worked as a carpenter for many years until he relocated to Atlanta, GA. He started working at Morehouse College as a carpenter in 2007 and retired in 2011.
Roberto married the love of his life Ana, on April 25, 1971 and is a father of six. Roberto took his role as father and provider earnestly.He was an amazing man who loved and adored his family. His happiness for life was expressed through his sense of humor and great story-telling. Roberto had a passion for sports-his favorite team was the Yankees; he enjoyed building furniture, dancing and a good drink. He talked loud and his whistle can be heard yards away. Roberto was a Jack of all trades and if you asked him, there was nothing he couldn’t do.
Roberto was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Elsa Margarita Forbes, two brothersVincent Forbes and Franklyn Eugene Forbes (Yvonne) and his mother in law, Cynthia Roper. He leaves to cherish his memory and legacy, his wife Ana, 6 children:Roberto Junior (Anayansi), Eugenio, Derek (Jaisa), Anthony (Fleurette), Khadine (Brant) and Gary (Grace); 11 Grandchildren: Yashira, Defghi , Roberto, Derek Jr., Shadia, Jair, D’Angelo, Deijanis, D’genaro, Anthony Jr., Aniyah and Bowie; 5 great-grandchildren: Arielys, Aldrick, Jahlive, Jahdiel and Jahsir; his sister Amalia, his god-daughter Jovana, many nieces/nephews and close friends. Roberto will be truly missed by his family and all who knew him; he will be in our hearts forever.
