

Wesley Whyte was the son of Ruth Hamilton and Henry Whyte. He was born in Hampshire, St. Catherine, Jamaica. Wesley had little memory of his mother who died while he was a young child. His grandmother, aunt Jess became the matriarch, and she was his leading support throughout his youthful years.
Wesley later met and fell in love with Rosetta Facey in 1962 and they were married by April 1963. The union produced four children: two boys and two girls. After many years in Jamaica, Wesley and his wife relocated to Riverdale, Georgia in 1995.
While in the United States, he worked as housekeeping attendant and ancillary worker at the Westin Hotel followed by Southern Regional hospital from 1995 to 2017, when he retired. He remained a strong support to his wife of 59 years who preceded him to eternity on Novemver 19, 2022.
On October 29,2025 he was struck by an emergency illness. After the brief illness he was unable to continue the fight, thus he became a victim of death on November 20, 2025.
He is survived by sisters (Joyce and Pauline and family), brother (Leon), children (Fitzroy and wife; Seymour and wife, Patrick, Shernette, Sharon), step-daughters (Claudette and Pearletta); grandchildren (Fitzandra Bower and husband; Tony and wife; Jermaine and wife; Renee, Kyle, Kim, Camoy, and others); great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held on December 13, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Tara Garden Chapel, located at 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the same location.
The committal service will take place at Carver-Moore Cemetery, 350 Upper Riverdale Rd, Jonesboro, GA 30236, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm on the same day.
