Anthony J Hammer Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann; his children Kay (Brent) Hart of Lake Ann, MI, Anthony “Tony” (Laurie Purvis) J. Hammer, III of Jupiter, FL and Sherri (Mark) Gallagher of Indiantown, FL; grandchildren Jessica (Daryl) Billy, Anthony (Tausha) J. Hammer IV, Eric Chestnut, Casey (Michelle) Chestnut Marcus, Kyle Chestnut and Derek Hart; six great grandchildren; and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.

He was born November 23, 1940 in Fremont, OH. He grew up in Green Springs, OH where he met the love of his life, Ruth Ann Lee. They were married on October 1, 1960 and very recently happily celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. They were fortunate enough to retire at a young age, which allowed them to travel with family and to visit family and friends.

He graduated from Green Springs High School, then began working for Miller Pipeline. That lead him to Indiana where he began working as a Supervisor with Richmond Gas Company in Richmond, IN for 25 years. He was member of American Legion Post #62. After retiring he spent his time doing general home maintenance, woodworking and watching Ohio State Football, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

A visitation for Tony will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. A graveside service will occur Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33469.
