

86, born July 22, 1927 in Hartford, CT died December 5, 2013 at the Pavilion in Jupiter. She attended East Hartford High School and graduated from Manchester High School and Morse Secretary School. She worked at various administrative secretarial roles. Barbara married Robert Ermisch and they lived in Northridge, CA and Yuba City, CA before moving to Florida in 1971. She began working at Pratt and Whitney W. Jupiter as an Administrative Assistant giving herself the title “best damn secretary they had”. The engineers in her group agreed!
She leaves behind her two sons Philip Ermisch of Jupiter, FL, David Ermisch and wife Nora from Kuwait; Daughter Robin Benton of Lake Worth, FL; Brother Herb Custer of Martha’s Vineyard, MA, David Custer and wife Dorothy of Manchester, CT; Sister Melinda Oehmsen from Ellington, CT; Grandchildren Cindee, Wyatt, Lauren, Megan, Ryan, Robert, Claire, Ronald, Brittany, and Brianna; Great Grandchildren Londyn, Aaron, Morgan, and Gabriel; Nephews Timothy, Peter and wife Carley; Niece Jill and husband Jack; Great Nieces and Nephews Andrew, Matthew, Chris, and wife Kim, Nick and wife Becca, and Kasey Oehmsen.
Barbara will be missed greatly by her many friends in Connecticut and Florida. Her hobbies included golfing and bowling; sitting with her crossword puzzles and a Johnny Red. She prided herself on having a clean house. She got a thrill with buying things on sale and getting any bargain. She loved all of her siblings, children and grandkids. She enjoyed her summers in Connecticut and traveling around New England eating lobster and shore dinners. She was always a kind generous and loving woman, mom, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by all.
