Diane was born in Linden, New Jersey where she spent her childhood, and where she eventually met her high school sweetheart Gareth (Gary) Colletti. They married in May of 1965, and after a series of moves, settled in Somers, NY, where her then four year old daughter grew up, journeyed through high school, and then went on to graduate college. Throughout their 21 years of residency there, Diane had been active in the Somers Junior Women’s Club, the New Comers Club and also contributed to the planning and support of many school and local social events. Also, during this period she began her rewarding career as a travel agent which afforded her opportunities to visit several worldwide locations, including her most cherished, a trip to Russia (as that area was directly related to her heritage).
Diane and Gary relocated to Jupiter in 1998 where they would share their remaining life together. Diane continued to enjoy leisure travel with her husband, especially cruises in the Caribbean and to Bermuda (where they had honeymooned, and then returned to in order to celebrate several wedding anniversaries). In addition to her career, throughout her wonderful life she had enjoyed skiing, playing tennis, Mahjong, and decorating her home for all holidays. As her granddaughters were born she entered a new chapter in her life as a devoted Nana.
Diane was a true light in the life of everyone she touched. She was generous, kind, patient and her energy was contagious. She lived her life full of passion, love and especially fun.
In addition to her loving husband of 57 years, she is survived by her daughter Marla Ann, son-in-law Michael and two beautiful granddaughters, Lillith and Lexi Rose. She also has one surviving brother, William Petraitis, and his wife Patricia of Avon, New Jersey and many nephews and cousins in several states.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Diane on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm with a funeral service beginning at 12:30 pm. The services will take place at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, at 1112 Military Trail, in Jupiter, FL 33458.
