

At the young age of 14, he joined the United States Air Force. While stationed in West Palm Beach, Don met the love of his life, Vivian Wells. They married, establishing the foundation for their wonderful life together, which eventually included two children, Donna and Wayne. Upon retiring from the military in 1968, Don moved his family back to Palm Beach County. He started his civilian career at RCA, before spending several fulfilling years working for, and retiring from Palm Beach County Water Utilities.
Don and Vivian built a wonderful life together defined by family, travel and adventure. Don especially loved road trips, taking Vivian on extensive journeys across the country, including two memorable trips to Alaska. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Moores and four grandchildren, Allan, Kayleigh, Alanna (Ally), and Natalie.
Don was predeceased by his wife, Vivian; his son, Wayne Prophitt and his siblings, Benjamin Prophitt Jr., Bobby Prophitt, Georgia Duty and Sara Green.
Visitation will be held at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, located at 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458, on October 23, 2025, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. A funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm. A committal service will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Rd, Tequesta, Florida 33469.
