

Edith grew up on the family farm in Clinton County. She graduated from Thornton High School. She married Raymond C. Stewart and together they shared 39 years of marriage. She was employed as a Bookkeeper for Lumber Yard in Thornton until the arrival of her children, when she became a housewife.
She was a Tequesta Park Program Director, a Girl Scout Summer Camp Director and Limestone Creek Paraprofessional from 1989 – 2007. Edith followed Atlanta Braves Baseball, enjoyed creating and doing crafts, being a Girl Scout Leader for 50 years. In 1969 she was honored by receiving the highest award given to a girl scout adult, the Thanks badge. In 1979 Edith was presented the Faithful service award for 25 years of faithful service.
Limestone Creek Elementary named Edith the school related employee of the year in 2001. She went on to be the 2001 county school related district employee of the year.
Survivors include her children, Connie Gamble of Bellefontaine Ohio; Bonnie Daniels of Jupiter, FL; Carol Barnett of High Springs, FL; Mark Stewart of High Springs, FL and Barbara Stewart of Jupiter, FL; a sister, Marcia Dukes of Tallahassee FL; 28 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 15 great- great grandchildren.
Edith is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Stewart

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
