Edna Annie Perks

Age 80 passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at her home in Jupiter, Florida. Edna was born February 8, 1931 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She was the only daughter of Andrew and Georgina Cowper. Edna was extremely brave and made a huge decision to move to the United States in October 2009 to be near her three children, Beverley, Jeffrey and Debra. Her husband George preceded her in death in 1986, as did her only brother Jimmy in 1991.

Edna is survived by her daughter Beverley, her husband Tom and grandchildren Tamlyn, Brittany, and Andrew; her son Jeffrey, his wife Arlene and granddaughters Kirsten and Roxanne; her youngest daughter Debra and her husband David who reside in San Diego, CA. Edna was fortunate enough to have three great grandsons, Joshua, Colton and Cooper.

Edna was an amazingly kind, generous and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Most of Edna’s working career was spent working for non-profit organizations. Since moving to Florida in October 2009 she made many friends at Mangrove Bay and in Jupiter.

Edna’s service will be held at Mangrove Bay on Saturday January 28th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 or Safe Harbor Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 1843, Jupiter, FL 33458
