

Gary Bledsoe, 65, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Jupiter, Florida following an extended illness. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky, spending his childhood years in the mountains of Pennington Gap, Virginia.
After graduating Pennington High School, he attended and graduated from East Tennessee State University and then moved to Jupiter, Florida. He worked as a stockbroker. Gary was a faithful Christian and a member of Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter, FL. He was baptized on the same day with his father in Pennington Gap, Virginia. Gary loved all life had to offer and lived his life to fullest, never taking a moment for granted. He loved all sports and the outdoors and never wanted to waste a day that God had given him. He had a beautiful soul and will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He knew the meaning of true friendship and anyone that met him, became a lifelong friend. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. His most cherished role in life was being a father.
Gary is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Melissa Bledsoe; his beloved son, Gary Michael Bledsoe II; his mother, Shirley Pearson; his sister, Debra Wharton and her husband Sam; his second mother, Barbara Bledsoe; his nephews, Sam Wharton III, Adam Wharton and his wife Melissa; his niece, Lora Lopez and her husband Marco; his aunts, Harriett Roberts and her husband Larry, Connie Nunley and her husband Bill; many cousins, extended family; his mother in-law, Wanda McNeese and her husband Ron; his sister in-law Debora Vietri and her husband Robert; his brother in-law, Dexter Fitzgerald II and his wife Mirasol as well as countless friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Bledsoe, who passed away in 2020.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Jupiter Medical Center and The Anderson Family Cancer Institute in Jupiter for their care and concern for Gary and his family throughout his illness, with special appreciation to Dr. Ryan Devine.
There will be a memorial service, followed by a luncheon, Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Immanuel Bible Church, 17475 Jonathan Dr., Jupiter, Florida 33477. The service will also be live streamed at www.gibcjupiter.org.
There will be a Celebration of Life Friday, June 13 at 12:00 p.m. at Pennington Gap Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, we know that Gary would prefer memorial contributions be made to The Expositors Seminary, at 17475 Jonathan Dr., Jupiter, Florida 33477.
