Geraldine (Geri) Seever died peacefully on July 24, 2022 at the age of 78, surrounded by her daughters and faithful caregiver. Her family was her passion – she was a beloved wife, mother, and stepmother; grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; and ‘Mama Geri’ to her many chosen additional family members.
She was a woman of profound faith, which guided her daily life. Her compassion to love and guide others was unmatchable. She was a gifted listener who had the unique ability to make everyone feel important and loved.
Geri was born to the late Otha and Opal Seithers on August 14, 1943 in Flemingsburg, KY. She was the middle child of three daughters. She graduated Fleming County High School in 1961 and attended Fugazzi Business School in Lexington, KY. She married the late Larry F. Seever on March 22, 1974 in Kansas City, MO before moving to Palm Beach Gardens, FL with their family in 1986.
Geri had a passion for helping others throughout her longstanding career which began in the early 1960s. She served in various roles within several medical schools including the University of Kentucky Medical School and the University of Kansas Medical School. She also served as the business manager of many family businesses with her husband Larry. The golf industry became an additional passion after she relocated to Florida, and held positions at Golden Bear International, Executive Sports International, The Golden Bear Tour, The Honda Classic and finally Keiser University College of Golf, where she ultimately retired in 2015. Her final and most selfless role was serving as sole and faithful caregiver to Larry, who passed from Alzheimer’s Disease in 2021. Her tremendous heart never stopped giving and loving even when her health was declining as well.
Geri had a love of gardening, tennis, animals and children. She was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan. Not much could take her away from a Wildcat game or March Madness! She also enjoyed watching golf and spending time with her family.
Geri is survived by her daughters: Monica (Seever) Ford of Jupiter, FL, and daughter Natalie (Seever) Carron of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; stepchildren Jeffrey Seever and Patrick Seever of Kansas City, MO and Amy (Seever) Mooney of West Des Moines, IA; her sisters Norma (Seithers) Truesdell of Vanceburg, KY and Kay (Seithers) Boling of Lexington, KY.
Geri will be missed by her grandchildren, Benjamin Ford, Ryan and Patrick Carron, Payton and Victoria Seever, Jason Zuber, Austin Seever, Preecy Miller, and Anthony and Jacob Mooney as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. A Memorial Service will occur in the funeral home at 12:00pm. Followed by a Reception.
