June 4, 1948 - March 12, 2020
Hugh Stacey/ Hewlett L. Stacey left this world on March 12, 2020. He will be sadly missed as he was the most generous, sweet, loving person the world could ask for.
He is survived by his son, Richard; brothers, Alvin DeWayne Stacey and Howard E. Stacey; sisters, Linda Stacey McDaniel and Nancy Stacey Stone; along with the two loves of his life - Patricia Micewicz and his beloved cat Orange.
He is predeceased by his sister Edith Rogers.
Hugh hailed from St. Petersburg, Florida where, after serving our country in Vietnam, he enjoyed a successful twelve-year career in the restaurant business. Then in his early thirties, he decided to pursue his passion and began a career in golf by enrolling in the PGA Apprentice Program.
In 1988 Hugh moved to the east coast of Florida where he managed outside operations golf programs at several clubs in Palm Beach County. In 1995 Hugh took over as caddie master at The Loxahatchee Club in Jupiter, FL where he nurtured and led one of the finest caddie programs in America until his retirement in 2016.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Hugh’s name to the South Florida PGA Foundation.
