Of Jupiter died on July 18, 2013. Born in Lockhart, Alabama, the only child of Albert E. and Irene M. McLeod. She graduated from Stuart Hall in Staunton, Virginia and Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. She earned her Post Graduate degree from the University of Alabama and the Sorbonne University of Paris, a teacher of foreign languages for 33 years in Sylacauga, Alabama and Palm Beach County, Florida. Mrs. Nelson was a pioneer in developing curriculum and laboratories for language instruction. A resident of Jupiter Inlet Colony for 30 years, Mrs. Nelson is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Claude M. Nelson.
According to Mrs. Nelson’s wishes, memorial services will not be held at this time.
