James W. Coates

Jim was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on January 21, 1942. He served in the United States Navy and later retired from Sikorsky Aircraft. He was married to his wife, Kareen Coates, for 55 years.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kareen “Kay”; his children, Jim (Cindy) Coates and Traci Coates (Tim) Wehage; his grandchildren, Tyler (Sarah) Coates, Christina (Steve) Olson, Josh (Danielle) Coates, Heather Paris, Timmy Wehage, and Alexis Coates; his great grandchildren, Trevor Coates, Faith Coates, Stephen Olson, Gabriel Coates, Callie Olson, and Baby Hudson Coates; his siblings, Butch (Liz) Coates, Donna Wells, Darryl Norton, and Robin McLeskey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Ruth Norton, and brother, Steve Norton.

Visitation with the family will take place at Aycock-Riverside Funeral & Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458 on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A private burial will follow for the immediate family.
