Jeane had a full and wonderful life, being crowned Miss Kansas City and Miss Pepsi Cola... and a love of dance which culminated into an offer to join the famed Rockettes on Broadway in New York City. Forgoing the bright lights of the city, she made the decision to marry the love of her life from the age of 14, John Robert Banister, and start a family. During that time she was a dance teacher and mom-coach extraordinaire in her two children’s lives, answering the call to any adventure presented. Always interested in real estate, Jeane had her license in Palm Beach county and designed and contracted three homes in her lifetime, one being on Lake Winnebago in Missouri, which provided a full life of boating, waterskiing and horses for her family, right in their backyard. After moving to North Palm Beach and the death of her husband, she eventually married William C. Schooley, with whom she traveled abroad, enjoyed motor home travels and a second home in North Carolina, until his death 25 years later. Jeane had a soft spot for animals and was known by all as a welcoming, gentle, kind, sweet woman, doting especially on family and her precious cats.
Her solid faith in God and her spirituality was passed on to her children and grandchildren...an enduring gift... guiding all through any tough times. “Let Go and Let God” became her legacy. She leaves behind
a daughter Shelly Ross from Virginia, a son John Robert Banister in North Palm Beach, two grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Ross and three great grandchildren, Grayson, Riley and Isla, all in Virginia. She was fortunate to have a wonderful daughter in law, Lynn Banister and Lynn and John’s family, Jennifer Matheson Lachmund, Fred Lachmund and granddaughter Ashley in her life for many years. We honor Norma Jean Paulk, a special woman who was lovingly devoted to Jeane the last 6 years of her life. As a tribute to Jeane, we ask that you please pass along the big love that she was, to every human and every animal you meet.
