

Joann Rawlinson passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024. She was a devoted mother, beloved wife, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, love, and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Joann leaves behind her four children—Kelsey, Keaton, Kessler, and her youngest joy, Chad Ryder—whom she loved with all her heart. She is also survived by her soulmate and husband of 10 years, Chad Rawlinson, who was the love of her life and with whom she shared a bond that will never be broken. Together, they brought new light into the world with their son, Chad Ryder, who was the reason behind Joann’s every smile, every action, and every moment of joy.
She is also survived by her loving mother, Judith, and her sisters, Neena and Susie, who were her closest confidantes. She was preceded in death by her brother, Cris, and her father, William Hearne, who welcomed her into the arms of Heaven.
In addition to her immediate family, Joann is survived by her mother-in-law, Jan Holcomb, her father-in-law, Larry Rawlinson, and her brother-in-law, Bret Rawlinson, who cherished her as one of their own. Joann was also an aunt to Karlee, Brittney, Kyler, Chloe, and Travis, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
As a family member in his own right, Joann is also survived by Reef Ryder Rawlinson III, the family dog, who faithfully stayed by her side, offering comfort, loyalty, and plenty of laughs throughout the years.
Born in Salisbury, Maryland, Joann was a proud graduate of St. Augustine High School. She continued her education at Southern Seminary in Virginia for two years before completing her degree at Salisbury University. During her youth, Joann was a well-accomplished equestrian and swimmer, showcasing her determination and talent in both pursuits.
Joann’s legacy is one of boundless love, kindness, and devotion. She was truly the best mother anyone could ask for, gifted with the rare ability to calm, nurture, and connect with children of all ages. Her patience and tender touch were a testament to her incredible heart, and she embraced her role as a mother with unmatched love and dedication.
Her 10-year marriage to Chad was a love story for the ages—an undeniable bond of soulmates who found each other and created a life filled with laughter, adventure, and devotion. Their love was a beacon to all who knew them, shining through their son, Chad Ryder, who became their “why”—their reason to keep dreaming, loving, and living.
Joann’s joy for life was contagious; she was a child at heart, with a vibrant spirit that illuminated every room she entered, making everyone around her feel special and loved. She opened her home to family and friends alike, loving to bring everyone together—inviting others to stay over, sharing food, decorating her house, and ensuring everyone felt welcomed and heard. Joann had a unique gift for listening—truly listening—to others, and she cherished every person’s story, always eager to learn more about those she loved.
Her sense of humor was one-of-a-kind. Joann had a rare knack for playing pranks on her family and friends, especially during the holidays, leaving everyone laughing with a loud, contagious joy that filled the room. Whether she was surprising someone with a cleverly timed joke or creating a mischievous moment, her laughter was a melody that echoed in our hearts—a bright, infectious sound that will never fade from our memories.
Her friends often laughed when she would get on the phone and say, “Girl, you have to hear this!”—a phrase Joann used every time she had a new story to share, always eager to bring joy and humor to those she loved. Her ability to connect with others extended far beyond her warmth and laughter—she had a special way of making everyone feel truly seen. Every single one of her family members and friends had a nickname created by Joann. These nicknames, quirky and personal, will stay with them forever, reminders of the unique and irreplaceable bond she shared with each of them.
A devoted mother, Joann beamed whenever she spoke about her children. She was their biggest cheerleader, always quick to tell others about their accomplishments and successes. She had an unwavering belief in the potential of those around her, and her pride in her family knew no bounds.
Joann was a true “girl’s girl” who rooted for everyone around her. Her love of children, daycares, everything pink and sparkly, beauty, lashes, shoes, and home decor were just a few of the things that brought her joy. She loved to travel, exploring the world with Chad and marking off destinations like Barcelona, Spain; Cannes, France; Florence and Rome, Italy; and Corsica. But her favorite moments were always spent with family.
Joann’s love will continue to shine through her children, her husband, and everyone whose life she touched. While her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lessons she taught. Her legacy is a tapestry of love, woven through the lives of all who knew her—a shining example of a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
A celebration of Joann’s life will be held on December 7, 2024, in Jupiter, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to [charity or organization, if applicable.
