

John Fred McMath, born in Birmingham, AL, on January 12, 1931, passed away on March 15, 2024, in Jupiter, FL, at the age of 93, leaving his loving wife Joan, stepchildren Dawn Martinez, Gina Veeneman, Clifford Bailey and wife Cherish, and Cynthia Bailey Pellach; older sister Betty Deane Dixon, nieces Tanni Newlin, Mary Carol Hessen, Lynn Skinner and Jean Skinner, and nephews Joe McMath, Rob McMath and John Skinner.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Deane McMath, siblings Robert McMath and Jean Skinner, and nieces Sarah Skinner and Mary Fresneda.
John graduated from the University of Miami and taught at Southwest High School in Miami while attending UM Law School. He practiced workers’ compensation law for 30 years and one minute, as he would always say.
Over the many years since his retirement, he lived a happy life, enjoying travel on his private railroad car and on cruises with his wife to countries around the world. He loved spending time with all his family members, especially his grandchildren Rachel, Max, Amanda, Amy, Logan and Maya.
He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. May he rest in peace until we meet again. A private celebration of his life was held by close family in Jupiter.
