

A World War II Veteran, Sonny served his country in the United States Army. He was a skilled carpenter by trade, advancing to supervise many large construction projects until his retirement at age 65. Even after retirement, Sonny continued to work on projects for family and friends. He was a lifelong member of the Republican Party and took great pride in his Italian heritage.
Sonny was married to his beloved wife, Florence, affectionately known as Scotty, for 78 years. Together, they raised four children, Jo-Ann, John who predeceased him in 1978, Joseph (Anne), and Janie (Thomas). He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, Joelle who passed in 2020, John Anthony, Tommy John, Michael Joseph, and Alyssa Nicole. His legacy also includes five great-grandchildren, Joey, Emmie, Rawko, Easton, and Summer; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his son, John and his granddaughter, Joelle, Joseph is predeceased by two brothers, Jack (Jennie) and John (Eileen) and a sister, Ida (Victor Martin).
