Mary Agnes Minnoch passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania, on May 14,1939; the daughter of Robert Oswell Hooper and Emma Lena Kauffman, the youngest of four children.
In 1945, when Mary’s father became a minister with the United Brethren Church (now United Methodist) the family moved to Rockwood, Johnstown, and Bellwood, Pennsylvania. Mary graduated high school in Pittsburgh in 1956 and went on to attend Pittsburgh Beauty Academy, graduating in 1958.
Mary married Glenn Rager at her father’s parsonage in New Florence, Pennsylvania, on April 26,1958. The couple lived in Johnstown while Glenn served in the US Army. They had three children, Glenn Arthur, Gary Allen, and Karen Lucille. In 1963, they moved to Florida, settling in Palm Beach Gardens. Glenn died of a heart attack at age 33.
Mary raised her family and worked at RCA until the plant closed. She also worked at a microfilm company, an aircraft parts plant, and cashier for the Florida Turnpike.
On December 18, 1973, Mary married Roy Neal. They combined their families and built a house in Jupiter Farms.
Mary loved to camp, kayak and travel with the family to visit friends and national parks. She enjoyed motoring on their houseboat on Lake Okeechobee. Mary owned a wilderness area on the Peace River in central Florida — her favorite place to camp and kayak.
Roy died in 2013, leaving Mary a widow again. She became a professional massage therapist.
In 2015, Mary met widower John Minnoch, a longtime resident of Jupiter Inlet Colony. They were married December 23, 2017. Mary happily pursued her favorite hobbies. She was an energetic homemaker and cook and an active volunteer.
Mary is survived by husband, John; her daughters, Barbara and Karen; her sons, Gary and Glenn; her daughters-in-law, Nancy and Alice; her stepchildren, Kelly and David; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
