

Max was born in Arley, Alabama to Clyde Lee and Desi Mae (Neal) Davis on August 22,1933. At the age of 12, Max’s parents brought he and his 6 siblings to Palm Beach County Florida, where he continued to live for the next 76 years. Just into his college years, Max met his bride of 62 years, Betty Dunkin. Soon after their marriage Max realized his dream of of owning his own business of copier distribution, Max Davis and Associates, of which he successfully owned and operated for 30 years. Upon retirement Max sold the business.
Max was involved with the community in many ways. He served on the, at the time Palm Beach Community College Board of Trustees, of which he was an asset to the success of bringing the college from a community to a state status, which is now known as Palm Beach State College. Max was a founder of the local Arthritis Foundation of which he co chaired many successful events. He served on the Criminal Justice Board and many more.
In Max’s free time he enjoyed traveling to the Bahamas and fishing on his boat “The Big D”. Another of his favorite past time activities was playing 18 holes with his family and friends on the local golf courses in the paradise of Palm Beach County.
Max is survived by his two sons, John Mark Davis (and his spouse Nancy) and James Matthew Davis. He is also survived by his sisters, Jeanette and Sue; his brothers, Joe Davis and is spouse Vicki and Rex Davis and his spouse Lilly Mae. Along with his five grandchildren Jessica, Jonathan, Joshua, Michelle and Ryan, and several great grand children and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Francis and Brenda.
Max loved his family and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A funeral service for Max will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St Mark's Episcopal Church, 3395 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. Following the funeral service will be a committal service to follow at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33469.
