Patricia “Pat” Alice Lester Kent, lovingly known as G’ma to her family, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at the age of 83, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. A resident of North Palm Beach, Florida, Patricia lived a remarkable life filled with adventure, creativity, and generosity of spirit.
Born on August 19, 1942, Patricia’s life took her across the globe—from New York City to London and beyond. A passionate traveler and gifted artist, she explored the world as a travel photographer and created exquisite high-karat gold jewelry as a goldsmith. Her artistic eye and sense of style also extended to her interest in interior design.
Patricia attended Penn State University, the Katherine Gibbs School, and the New York School of Interior Design. Her diverse interests reflected her curiosity and zest for life—she loved travel, photography, antiques, and her beloved Havanese dogs.
Deeply devoted to her faith and community, Patricia was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, serving as an usher, as well as on the vestry and helping as a photographer for church events. She volunteered at St. George’s soup kitchen and joined the 2008 St. Mark’s Mission trip to Costa Rica. She also dedicated her time to education, serving on the School Board at St. Mark’s Episcopal School and supporting annual auctions at Cardinal Newman Catholic High School. Patricia believed strongly in giving back to others and lived that belief every day through her actions.
Perhaps her most meaningful role was as a grandmother. She lovingly raised her twin granddaughters, Skylar and Devon, from the time they were four years old, surrounding them with wisdom and love. Patricia’s adventurous spirit inspired those around her—whether recounting her incredible journey halfway around the world by ship at age 22 or describing her travels to far off places like India and Africa.
Patricia will be remembered for her spunky personality, clever wit, and bold honesty. She spoke her mind, loved to laugh, and brought her signature style to everything she did.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Katherine Rich and granddaughters, Skylar Lester and Chloe Rich.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Gloria Lester and beloved granddaughter, Devon Lester.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 4:00PM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 3395 Burns Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. A reception will follow in Coleman Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org, in memory of Patricia’s courageous journey and her enduring love for others.
