For those of you who may not know all of the details of my mom's life, she was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and graduated from St. Joseph's Grammar School and St. Michael High School. She had two sisters, Eleanor and Margaret whom she loved very much. She cherished both her mother Regina (our Nana) and her father John. She was a cheerleader in High School with such good friends as Fitzi and worked for JP Morgan after high school.
She married Frank and lived in Europe for several years. They had two children Janine and Keith. She was a devoted Nana to her grandsons Carlos and Javier. She always looked forward to "girl talk" with her daughter-in-law Cristina. After Europe, she lived at the Jersey Shore in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for many years. then in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and finally in Jupiter/Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Ginger was an avid NY Giants fan and also rooted for the UNC Tarheels. Like her daughter, she also followed US women's soccer. She loved The Boss-Bruce Springsteen. For those of you who knew my mom, she loved to talk about many subjects- and if you engaged her in politics- watch out-especially if you were on the opposite side of her.
Throughout her life, she struggled with various illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.), bad shoulder an knees, etc. But she was a fighter until the end- actually, she walked for the first time in years the week before her death. (one of her goals before she died was to walk again-and she did it.) She truly wanted the best for the world and people. As a final act of her giving to the world, she donated a part of herself for MS research- something she would be proud of.
She was beloved by her son, daughter, grandsons, daughter-in-law, sisters, nephews, nieces, her Heartland family among many other family and friends.
