

Rick graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in History from Stetson University, followed by a Master’s degree in Social Studies Education from Nova Southeastern University.
Rick devoted 33 years to the School District of Palm Beach County, proudly serving as an educator at Jupiter High School. He touched countless lives through his dedication to teaching, his passion for history, and his commitment to mentoring students, especially through his enthusiastic sponsorship of the Jupiter High School gaming club, “Strategies and Tactics.”
An Eagle Scout, a Veteran, and a man of integrity, Rick embodied service and strength. He found joy in history-based board games, football, and staying active; pursuits that reflected his love of community, curiosity, and a disciplined spirit.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Melissa “Missy” Sciacca; his children, Grant and Justine; his brother, Bill and his wife Dorreen; his mother-in-law, Catherine Breslin; his brothers-in-law, Robert Breslin and his wife Lana, Brian Breslin, and James Breslin III; as well as extended family who loved and cherished him.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Sciacca; his mother, Yvonne Taylor; and his stepfather, Don Taylor.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 5pm at First Presbyterian Church, 717 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. All who were touched by Rick’s life are warmly invited to join in honoring his memory.
