

At a young age Bob joined the U.S. Navy as a radioman, where he became proficient in communicating with Morse code. Following his time in the Navy, he worked as an engineer with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft where he retired after almost 40 years. Bob was also an avid coin and book collector, and he had a lifelong passion for restoring antique radios. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren; and great grandfather to 4 great grandchildren.
Bob and his wife, Fran were married in Columbus, Georgia, where they lived part time for 19 years, eventually settling in Tequesta, Florida. Bob and Fran shared 31 wonderful years together.
Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Roberta Barr Ellsworth; an infant grandson, Joshua Ellsworth, and a brother, Allan Barr. Bob is survived by his wife, Frances; two daughters, Sheila Jackson and Anna Monteiro; two sons, Scott Barr and Michael Lennon; a sister, Mary Rios; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob's life on what would be his 85th birthday will be held at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 1:00pm.
There will be a private reception for family and friends immediately following the service.
