Bob was born in March of 1947 to Jesse and Eva Lee Marable in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Nathan B. Forrest High School in 1965 and went on from there to receive a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida. Bob spent the bulk of his distinguished, 38- year career designing and building rocket engines for Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne. Bob also proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Bob had a “need for speed,” loved riding motorcycles, working on cars and flying planes. As a deep lover of space, he was a life-long Star Trek enthusiast.
Bob is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marsha Neal Marable, and his five children – Alison Moyer, daughter; Bryan Marable, son; Michael Marable, son; Jennifer Carriker, daughter and Jonathan Butler, son. He is also survived by his sister Patsy Claremont and her husband, Paul Claremont, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Those who knew Bob best knew him to be an incredibly generous and gregarious man who gave of his time, talents and treasures freely. He loved a good story, loved to laugh, and loved his friends and family as deeply as any Southern man should.
