Robert Bret Schindler

He passed away in Jupiter, Florida of unknown causes.

Robert Bret Schindler was born in Bronx NY to Moe and Ruth Schindler. He grew up with brother Stephen Schindler. As a young man he became interested in reading and listening to classical music. Later he attended Hunter College where he met his devoted love of 60 years of marriage Judith Schecter and they fell in love.

Later at the age of 23 they were married and he graduated from Fordham Law school.

Within a few years they had started a family with older son David Schindler and younger daughter Robin Schindler. As a young couple they enjoyed traveling and antiquing together and with their children.

Robert practiced Law as a bankruptcy attorney in Manhattan, NY and later moved to their home in Armonk, NY where they enjoyed the country, swimming, fishing and boating in the local lakes and decorating their home with antiques that they found on their travels as a family. He enjoyed collecting history books and started his own library.

Later his passion for collecting rare history books led Robert at the age of 54 to retire from practicing law and move to Charleston SC with his wife Judith where he pursued his dream of running a book shop, Charleston Rare Book Company. He enjoyed acquiring and selling books for many years from his shop and also traveled along the east coast doing book shows.

In their Golden years they moved to sunny Florida and enjoyed their home in Palm Beach Gardens. Robert continued selling books and records from his beautiful home library and they enjoyed each others' company hunting for various items to decorate their home and garden with, shopping and cooking dinners, watching movies and listening to music together.

In addition to his loving wife Judith and Children David and Robin, Robert is survived by his wonderful grandchildren Lewis and Sarah Lolya and Brett Schindler whom he loved very much and was very proud of.
