It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Shari Fox (53) passed away peacefully in Jupiter, Florida on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, surrounded by her immediate family members following a courageous 2.5 year battle against EGFR-positive lung cancer.
The love of Shari’s life was her husband of over 25 years, Dr. Lee Fox (57), whom she met while living in Boston, Massachusetts. Her proudest achievement is the beautiful, tight-knit family that they raised together in Jupiter: Samuel (24), who graduated from Tulane University in 2023 and currently resides and works in Manhattan, New York, and Sydney (21), who is a senior at Duke University.
Shari is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jami and Jeff Chaban; her nephews, Zachary and Noah Chaban; her parents, Marilyn and Fred Simon; her mother-in-law, Carol Fox and many other dear friends and family members from South Florida as well as the Northeast.
Shari was born on November 23, 1971 in Framingham, Massachusetts. Raised in Framingham, Shari graduated from Framingham South High School in 1989 and then went on to graduate from the University of Hartford in 1993. Shari was always known for her warmth and kindness toward her classmates, and those who knew her remember her as a person of integrity and grace. Among her closest friendships were lifelong friends from Massachusetts, and she was a proud native of New England.
Shari married Dr. Lee Fox, a native of New York, on May 29, 1999 in Boston, Massachusetts, the city where the two first met and where they created special memories and began their careers. Following their nuptials, Shari and Lee spent the first year of their marriage in Coral Gables, Florida, where Lee completed his fellowship, before deciding to relocate to Jupiter, FL where they started their family.
After having a professional career in marketing, Shari made the decision to leave her career behind and be fully present as she raised her two children. Shari not only was a dedicated mother and was actively involved in the upbringing of her children and their academic and extracurricular lives, but she was also involved in numerous philanthropic endeavors in Palm Beach County. Shari donated her time and efforts to the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation and she and Lee chaired the Annual Ball and Highballs and Hibiscus event. Shari also participated in different committees and charities in Palm Beach County, and she was a supporter of many organizations including Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Big Dog Ranch Rescue.
One of Shari’s greatest passions was tennis. She played it and watched it as often as she could. She was active in many different local tennis leagues and was a member of various club teams including the team at Eastpointe Country Club.
Shari was an affectionate dog lover. From shih-tzus to bernedoodles, she always wanted a furry friend near her. Shari also was known for her exquisite taste and sense of style, and she took great pleasure in decorating her home and collecting clothing and accessories from her favorite brands.
Shari loved to entertain, and she and Lee spent much of their free time inviting their closest friends over to their home for casual dinner parties, movie nights, sports games, and pool parties.
Shari’s legacy will forever live on through the love she shared and the countless lives she touched. Her compassion for others and her kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
To celebrate Shari’s life, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Temple Beth Am, 2250 Central Blvd., Jupiter, Florida.
