Sharon Rose (Kavney) Smith, 68 was called home November 23 in Jupiter, Florida. Born in White Plains, New York, July 14, 1949. Sharon grew up in Miami, Florida. Sharon worked for Palm Beach County School District, including Federal Programs and Dreyfoos School of Arts for 18 years before returning to Miami and working for the Miami School District. Sharon married Rodney Smith, they were married for 19 years. Sharon and Ron retired in 2016 and moved to St. Lucie County to be close to the children and grandchildren. Sharon is survived by, husband Rodney Smith, son Timothy P. Kavney, daughter Jodi Kavney, son Hugh Kavney, grandson Anthony Kavney, grandson Corey Pack, granddaughter Chloe Pack, grandson Braylen Kavney, sister Jean Hemrick, brother Fredrick Ellis, sister Nancy Ellis, along with many nieces and nephews. Sharon is preceded in death by Fredrick and Rose Ellis. Sharon will be remembered for her generosity, love of family and the passion for helping and always being there for others.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center starting at 3:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 p.m.
