

Shirley Ann (Ott) Phillips, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, stepped into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 16, 2012. She was born on April 16, 1932 to LaVerne and Louise Ott in Tonawanda, New York. She lived 80 full and blessed years.
Shirley received her education at Tonawanda High School and Bryant and Stratton College. She worked in the family business L.E. Ott Trucking.
She married Donald E. Phillips on March 8, 1959 at her home in Tonawanda, NY. They moved to Van Nuys, California for one year before relocating back to New York. In 1971 they moved south, residing in Jupiter, Florida for forty years. Shirley was employed at The King’s Academy from 1976 to 1989. She was also a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Jupiter, Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald E. Phillips, five children, Rhonda Phillips Whiting (William), Richard Phillips (Kimberly), Kim Phillips, Dona Phillips Lowe (Evan), and David Phillips (Kimberly); 13 grandchildren, Jessica Whiting Volt (Corey), Zachary Whiting, Miranda Whiting, Amanda Phillips, Andrew Phillips, Evan Wesley Lowe, Jr., Gwyneth Lowe, Dylan Lowe, Rhys Lowe, Griffin Lowe, Bronwyn Lowe, Ross Phillips and Claire Phillips; 1 great-grandchild, Evelyn Volt; one brother, Mel Ott (Glenda); one sister, Susan Chasalow; one sister-in-law, Doris Fedorisin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Beacon Baptist Church, 11616 Indiantown Road, Jupiter, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The King's Academy Scholarship Fund.
