Thomas J. Loftus

Tom was the loving husband of Donna, devoted father to Jane (Pat) Lively and the late Thomas Anthony Loftus, and adored grandfather of Bridget, Erin and Patrick Lively. He was the beloved son of Helen and Anthony Loftus and a dedicated brother to Patricia Loftus Jablonski.

Tom was born and raised in Jersey City and was a New Jersey resident until 2018 when he and Donna moved to Tequesta, Florida. A graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Accounting, Tom worked for Benjamin Moore Incorporated for 32 years retiring as the company’s Tax Manager. He also worked for the State of Ohio in New Jersey as a Tax Auditor.

Tom’s pastimes included stock market investing, working out at his gym, reading and traveling the world with his wife. Tom's quiet and calm demeanor, his dry sense of humor and love of corny jokes endeared Tom to all that knew him. Tom was happiest when enjoying simple times with family; a pub crawl with his sister, brother-in-law and nephew, watching a Yankee game with his son, enjoying summer days at the Jersey Shore with his wife, daughter and grandchildren. His greatest joy was his grandchildren.

Tom was predeceased by his son Thomas and his sister Pat. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial mass will be postponed to a later date.
