I just found out from Facebook that Tim is gone and I send my sincerest sympathy to his family and friends. I worked with Tim back in the 80’s at WKHK radio in New York City and he was such a wonderful coworker and friend. My fondest memory of him was when he arrived for work one day and presented me with a bouquet of the most gorgeous lavender roses for no reason at all! It made my day then and every time I’ve  seen them since that day, I’ve  always thought of him, and I always will remember how he made me smile.

It’s on his birthday that I found out about Tim’s passing. I fondly remember the times that I stood on the sidewalk outside the windows of the broadcast booth at WGCL , G98, in downtown Cleveland during my lunch break just to watch him spin his magic. That was in the late ‘70s. 

I had such a crush on him. He once let me come to the studio when he was interviewing KISS. He also made me laugh when he appeared at Utopia nightclub in Willoughby, Ohio and got on the dance floor and taught us all how to do The Freak!!

It was that night that I actually knew he was my friend when somebody was giving me a hard time at the club and he defended me and then comforted me with hugs and a kiss (the only kiss we ever shared).

I will always love you Tim! Fly high Byrdman!!

Tim was an exceptional, caring and loving man. I am heartbroken by his sudden passing. My sincerest condolences to his wife, SALLY, and his entire family. May God rest his soul.

As a teenager I grew up listening to Byrdman on the radio in Cleveland, Ohio. What a shocking surprise, 40 years later, to hear that unmistakable voice in South Florida! I was truly starstruck when our business, Juno Beach Cafe, was offered to be the "official breakfast sponsor of the Get Up and Go Show and to be able to MEET the man behind the voice!

It was our absolute pleasure to have known this gentle voice and his beautiful wife, Sally.  Rest in peace, friend. 

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Tim Byrd. I live in the upstate of SC so I streamed his show through IHeart radio EVERY weekday morning. Tim’s personal brand was strong. His character and faith were evident even to the random listener. I wondered where he was each day after the start of the new year. I missed him. When learning of his death during his Get Up and Go Show I felt like I had been hit in the chest … hard! I cried over a man who I considered a friend but who I had never met. 
I know many others did as well. 
Rest In Peace Byrdman. 
You done good. 

That beautiful voice was attached to a beautiful heart and soul.  Tim set the bar when it came to professionalism in broadcasting.  Such class.  Such eloquence.  Such kindness to all that knew him.  The world is a better place because Tim lived.  Much love and sympathy to Sally and all who knew and loved him.  Soar, Byrdman, soar.

Peace to the family of and to the Community in the loss of this kind and gentle human being. We were last together at the Chamber of Commerce Awards Ceremony and sat next to each other. I am so grateful that we got the chance to catch up. He loved us all.

Tim and Sally are 2 of the finest people Mary Ann and I have ever known. We have known Sally for over 39 years and Tim for at least 25. They have meant so much to so many. Our hearts are  broken . Tim ( The General) as I called him was a kind Godly man with a heart of gold and a personality like no other. He and I laughed at each others jokes all the time on and off the radio. I can only repeat what he always said to me." Love you man". Rest in the arms of the Lord. Colonel Steve and Mary Ann Barnes
