BASILE, Tina (Concetta Pitrone Basile) – January 31, 1916 – June 26, 2013. Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Mom, “Nonna,” was raised in San Pier Niceto, Italy, and lived a very meek and humble life. She married Carmelo in 1946, and came to the U.S. in 1947. In the early years, she and her two sisters worked by sewing in Brooklyn sweat-shops. She mastered sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and most importantly: baking and cooking Italian specialties. She was renowned for her homemade “manicotti” and “biscotti”. She was ardent in her devotion to her Catholic faith and her family and was unwavering in character and principles. She taught all to show gratitude and thanks to God always, Who makes all things possible. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Carmelo, on July 11, 1998, and is survived by her loving family: son, Carmen (Denise) Basile of Oxford, CT; daughters - Katie Moss of Jupiter, FL; Roseann (Tony) Fuschetto of Lake Worth, FL; Josephine (Angel) Munoz of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; grandchildren Melisa (Brian) Moss Davenport; Nicole (Shane) Basile Irving; David Basile, Elizabeth Basile; Salvatore (Sonny) Fuschetto; Gina (Joshua) Fuschetto Ulmer, Catherine Fuschetto; Joey (Jenny) Munoz, Raquel Munoz, and five great-grandchildren: Sophia Davenport; Tyler, Nicholas and Joshua Irving, and Penelope Munoz. Tina is also survived by four loving and devoted nephews: Salvatore, Joseph, Peter and Russell Miraglia, nieces and nephews in Italy, South America and Australia and many “paisians” around the world. Tina was a faithful member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jupiter, FL and leaves behind many friends. To the very end, Tina knitted dozens of blankets, baby booties, hats and scarves, which were donated to the poor mothers in the community. Funeral arrangements are private. Rest in peace, Mom
