
Alexander was born on January 21, 1937 in Lahaina. He passed away on February 27, 2016. Alexander grew up in Lahaina and upon graduation from Lahainaluna High School in 1956, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and turned it into a 20-year career. He met his Gibraltar-born wife and lifetime companion Louise Ferrary while on U.S. Embassy duty in Rabat, Morocco, where they married. He returned to Maui in 1977 and soon went to work at the Hyatt Regency Maui as its Security Supervisor and Ambassador of Aloha for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Louise “Lou” Ross; sons, Lawrence “Larry” Ross, and Patrick “Pat” (Christine) Ross; daughter, Jessica Kailani Ross; daughters-in-law, Ananda Stone and Heather Brook Leamohala; brother, Roger (Sherry) Ross; sisters, Frances Pali and Agnes Rivera; hanai sisters, Primrose Keahi, and Lei Padua; 6 grandsons, Kalani Ross, Ipe Sahagun, Ikaika Ross, Lawrence Ross, Patrick Ross, and Koa Leamohala; 4 granddaughters, Anita (Pili) Sahagun, Kuulei Kaleleiki, Taylor Ross, and Kaimi Kaleleiki; 2 great-grandsons, Kekai Sahagun, and Kaena Napoleon-Grambusch.
Alexander was predeceased by his son, Alexander Home Leamohala.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina, mass will begin at 10 a.m.
Burial will be held at 1p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao.
