Colin Allen Dunn

Colin was born on June 21, 1953 to Archie and Mary-Louise Dunn of Waimanalo, O’ahu. After Colin graduated from Damien High School in 1971, he moved to Maui where he met his wife, and partner in crime, Melanie (Texeira) Dunn.

Colin and Melanie married in 1982 at Saint Anthony Church in Wailuku. Colin has three sons, Christopher, Lono, and Kevin.

After 30 years of service, Colin retired from The Maui News in July 2019. Colin spent his time with his grandchildren, attending baseball games, paddling at Kamaole beach 1, feeding his farm animals, and growing orchids.

Colin is survived by his sibling: Les Dunn; wife: Melanie; Sons: Christopher (Andrea), Lono (Marina), and Kevin (Jessica); and Grandchildren: Nicole, Natalie, Noa, C.J., Nalu, Jeiva, Orion, and Kayzlee.

Services will be held at Saint Anthony Church in Wailuku on Friday, December 15, 2023. Visitation will be held from 9:00am - 10:30am, and mass will begin at 11:00am.
