Damien Francis Pires Sr., 85 of Kula, Maui, passed away on January 12, 2026 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on March 20, 1940 in Wailuku.
A retired Supervisor at Hawaiian Cement, Damien was a master of many trades: an articulate welder, heavy equipment mechanic, and rock crusher operator. His work ethic was a hallmark that epitomized his diligence and dedication. Beyond his professional life, he was a devoted member of the Kula Holy Ghost Church.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Valerie Adams. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine Pires; son, Damien F. Pires Jr. (Sharis); daughter, Laurie Keali’inohomoku (Robert); a sister, Dolorine Pires; 5 grandchildren, Kanoelani, Tyler, Tatiana, Lopaka-Titus, Jordan; and 1 great granddaughter, Areli-Grace.
Services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Holy Ghost Church, 4300 Lower Kula Road, with visitation from 9:30am-10:30am; eulogy will begin at 10:30am and mass will begin at 11am; and burial will follow at 1pm.
