David "Kawika" D. Ham, 67. Volcano, HI. He passed on May 16, 2017 at his home in Volcano. He was born on May 23, 1949 in Honolulu and raised in Waimanalo, HI. He is the son of Robert & Anna Ham (both deceased). Brother William "Smoky" Ham (deceased), sister Barbara "Kanani" Ham, 6 nieces, 3 nephews, numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He graduated from Kalani High School, class of 1967. He served in the U.S. Army First Calvary Division in Vietnam. He was a decorated war hero, receiving three Distinguished Flying Cross Medals, the Bronze Star Medal, along with numerous other metals. He was employed at the University Of Hawaii, Manoa campus and Anaola Builders. A celebration of Kawika's life will be held at noon on Saturday, June 3 at Hale Inu in Hilo, Hi. There will be a private scattering of ashes in Waimanalo, HI at a later date.
