Don Cross, 79 of Kula, Maui passed away on April 2, 2026 at Maui Memorial Hospital with his wife and children close by his side.
Don was born on November 27, 1946, in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from North Denver High School, followed by college and a year in Vietnam with the Colorado Air National Guard. In 1972, he met and married Lana. He graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango Colorado in 1973 with a business degree. After graduation, he and Lana began their first water treatment company in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. He was always passionate about business and being an entrepreneur. In 1978, they moved to Maui and in January 1979, Lisa was born. Three years later, Shannon arrived in March 1982. He is the proud father of Lisa & Shannon and grandfather to La’aKea, Analia, Kalena, Alana, Haven, Haley & Hasten, who have always been such a joy and blessing to his life. Lana & Don continued in their love for one another, their commitment to the Lord and their work in water treatment business on Maui, until retirement about 5 years ago.
Don enjoyed working in the yard, growing flowers and vegetables, feeding the birds, playing with his favorite cat, Bo, and taking walks and golf cart rides in beautiful Keokea. Most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lana, his two daughters, Lisa Nishihara of Roseville, California, grandson, La’aKea, granddaughters, Analia, Kalena & Alana and Shannon Marocco (Joshua) of Maui, granddaughters, Haven and Haley, grandson, Hasten, twins, Kevin & Kelly Nilsen, of Colorado.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at:
King’s Cathedral in Kahului, Maui on
Tuesday, June 2, 2026
Greeting and coffee at 5:00pm
Service begins at 6:00 – 7:00pm
