Donald James "Jim" Murray, 87 of Hilo, passed away at his home in Hilo on August 2, 2017. Born in Hilo, he was a retired land surveyor and owner of Murray Smith and Associates, and consultant for AECOM. Private services to be held at a later date. Monetary donations to American Cancer Society of Hawaii or Kidney Foundation of Hawaii welcomed. Survived by his life partner Judith Kekahuna, son; Paul (Georgeanne) Murray of Hilo, daughters; Tracey (Arnold) Akau of Waimea, Leslie (Ford) Pascual of Volcano, Sharon (Robert) Martins of Paradise Park, brothers; Robert Murray of Seattle, WA, Melvin (Annette) Murray of Austin, TX, Bruce (Primrose) Murray of Carson, CA.
