Doris Mary Talbot

Doris Mary Talbot, a resident of Makawao, Maui, was born on Feb. 3, 1946, a native of Norwalk, Connecticut to Herman & Dot Cyr. She married Thomas Tonini, the father of her three children, Darrick, Sonja, and Laurenda. While living in Connecticut Doris volunteered countless hours as a school lunch aid, Cub Scout Den mother, and was involved with her children's sports. She was employed for several years as the bookkeeper and front desk clerk at the Ansonia YMCA as well as being an active racquetball player. She also enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends, listening to music, and watching game shows.

In 1992, she set sail to the Island of Maui with her then husband, Thomas Talbot, and never looked back. She began a new life, on her island, on her own terms, on July 14, 2024.

Doris was predeceased by her Longtime Companion, Douglas Lopes, husbands Thomas Tonini and Thomas Talbot. Her brothers, Clifford and Armand Cyr, her sister, Anita Cyr (House).

Doris is survived by her three children, Darrick (George), Sonja Blodgett (Ken) and Laurenda Tonini. Her six grandchildren, Jesse Tonini (Erika), Darrick (DJ) Tonini, Jr. (Marie), Angela Tonini, Jaclyn Tonini, Amanda Kloc, Martina Blodgett; two siblings, Theresa and Nancy Cyr, and Six great grandchildren, Lily Blessing, Barsun Jr., Xia Moon, Tresun, Nyla and Jesse Jr.

In lieu of flowers or offerings, the family requests a donation be sent, in her name, to Hospice Maui. We are grateful to them for the wonderful care they gave to our mother. Thank you.

Internment on Wednesday, July 31st at 1:00PM. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas Talbot, at the Maui Veterans Cemetery, Makawao. All are invited to attend. Reception to follow.
