
Frank William Gardanier, Jr., 72, passed away peacefully at his home on September 16, 2016, in Makawao, Maui, Hawaii. Formerly of Albion, Michigan, Frank graduated from Albion High School in 1962. He greatly enjoyed playing sports while in school. He also worked at Fannings Chevrolet, Sportman Shop and Union Steel Products before heading to California to attend Taft College. While in college, Frank met Shelley, the girl he would marry. After marrying Shelley Kaho’ohanohano, the couple moved to Maui (Shelley’s home town) and Frank joined the National Guard. Frank served in the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the war, Frank worked at AMFAC as a draftsman, then at Maui Electric in the engineering department. Finally, he became a business owner of Residential Designs where he drew home plans for many beautiful homes here on Maui. He loved watching sports and being around his family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016, at St. Antony Catholic Church; prayer service will begin at 11:30 a.m.; burial will follow, 1:00 p.m., at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao.
He is survived by his wife, Rochelle Gardanier; mother, Leona Gardanier; son, Chad (Lehua) Gardanier; daughters, Jennifer (Tyrone Duncan) Gardanier, Kristine Mone’t (Kele Irvine) Gardanier; hanai daughter, Rosie (Daniel) Kahiamoe; brother, Paul Gardanier; sister, Pam (Larry) Hamlin; 13 grandchildren, Emelie, Cody, James, Kaeo, Desha, Tre, Kiki, TJ, Tiana, Shyla, Danyel, Jordan, Sydney; and 2 great grandchildren, Izac and Jayce.
