
Gladys E. Lampkin, of Kahului, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Maui Memorial Medical Center in Wailuku. Mrs. Lampkin was born on April 9, 1931 in Honolulu. She was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. She also was a loving, generous person who touched many lives especially while in the hospitality industry from which she retired. She is survived by her son, Richard (Helen Madden) Lampkin; three daughters, Cheryl (Duane) Asami, Debra (David) Hauff, Della Lampkin; a brother, Edwin (Carolyn) Venhuizen; a sister, Mary Ellen Venhuizen; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; cousins, Jacqueline Hobbs and Geraldine Thrope; two aunties, Ruth Kort and Dorothy (John) Watson; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, John Venhuizen and her sister, Alice Arnett.
Visitation: Family and friends are invited to gather for funeral services on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Borthwick Norman's Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the mortuary.
Services: On Friday, October 21, 2011 at Borthwick Norman's Mortuary, service at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the mortuary, service at 1 p.m.
Interment: Cremation to follow.
