John Maher

John was born February 18, 1932 in Brooklyn NY to the late John A. Maher and Mary V. (Mullin) Maher.

In 1955 after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War John returned to Brooklyn to marry the love of his life Ann Sheerin.

John graduated from St. Johns University in1962 and embarked on a long career in finance retiring from the Parker Hannifin Corporation. In 1973 Johns career opportunities moved his family from Brooklyn N.Y. to Oxford Connecticut and again in 1988 career opportunities moved John to Madison Mississippi. Upon retiring in 1992 John and Ann moved to Hawaii to be closer to their children who began migrating to the islands in the early 1980’s. John was active in the Knights of Columbus and also a board member for IAO Theater for over 20 years.

John was predeceased by his wife of 58 years Ann Maher in 2013 and his sister Lorraine in 2015.

John leaves six children to cherish his memory Terrence (Pamela), Patricia, Timothy, Dennis (Jaye), Brian (Janet) and Sean. In addition he leaves nine grandchildren Christopher, Jessica, Nicholas, Ryan, Stefanie, Evan, Shelby, Sydney and Spencer along with six great grandchildren Julissa, Skylar, Aria, Jaina, Jack and Charlotte Ann.

Calling hours are at Saint Theresa Roman catholic church, 25 W. Lipoa St, Kihei Hawaii 96753 will be Saturday July 20, 2019 from 10 am to 10:45 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11 am.
