Julie Carolyn Foster, 74, of Kapoho, passed away on Aug. 11 at home. Born in Alabama and raised in North San Diego, Foster was a special education teacher for California public schools before retiring on Hawaii Island a couple decades ago. She is survived by her son Jeff (Tiffany Edwards Hunt) Hunt of Pahoa; brother David (Laurie) Foster of Honolulu; niece Lily Foster, of New York; nephew Jack Foster, of California; niece March Jennifer Hunt, of California; and nephew Billy Kiefer, of Pahoa. 2 grandchildren.
