Julien Carmichael Whitney, 46, of Hilo, Hawaii, passed away on September 10, 2015 at his home in Hilo. He was born in Panorama City, California. In Seattle he worked for years at the Pacific Northwest Ballet and was named Employee of the Year for his telephone solicitation work in which he raised nearly a half-million dollars in five years. He was also a graphic designer and did extensive work for various Victory Outreach churches. He dedicated his life to helping others. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held near Richardson Beach in Hilo on Sunday, September 27 starts at 9:30 am. All are welcome. He is predeceased by his mother, Elvie Ann Moore Whitney. He is survived by his wife Allison Williams of Seattle; his brother Abdullah Taalib Sankofa and his father Thomas Theodore Whitney. Arrangements by the Ballard Family Mortuary, Hilo.
