October 16, 1943 – May 06, 2015
On May 6, 2015, God accepted Kay, 71, into his loving arms
as her husband, daughters and grandchildren held on to her. She passed away at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents Takashi (Ko) and Kiyoko (Kay) Kawauchi and infant brother Francis. She is survived by Donald, her loving husband of 48 years; daughters Tisha (Brandon Kanamu) Garcia, and Tiffany (Christopher) Guico; grandchildren Taena Garcia, Chaysen Miyazono, and Branlee Kanamu; brothers Dennis (Diane) Kawauchi, Paul Kawauchi, and sister Christine (Leroy) Silva.
Kay retired from the Wailuku Federal Credit Union after 39 years of faithful service. She was a proud graduate of Baldwin High School, Class of 1961 and Honolulu Business College.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who put others before herself. She enjoyed Hawaiian music and traveling to Las Vegas in hopes of hitting the "Megabucks."
She loved shopping for clothes, women's shoes, and handbags. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 9:00am - 12:00pm at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku. Cremation to follow. Lunch at the St. Anthony school cafeteria.
Kay's ohana would like to say mahalo nui loa to the staffs of Maui Memorial Medical Center, Maui Medical Group, and Long's Kehalani pharmacy for their professionalism, courtesy, and respect. Also a special mahalo to Dr. Daniel Garcia, Dr. Oberst, Dr. Poon, and Dr. Dang.
She is free of pain, free of suffering, free of depression, free of medication. She is free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty she is free at last.
